What licenses/permits do you need to obtain for a charitable foundation in Pakistan?

For registration with the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan, obtaining a license involves a two-step procedure. The first step relates to issuance of the license by the SECP and the second step involves registration with the relevant regional office located in the province in which the charity will be registered and where it will undertake its activities.

The charity is also required to be registered with the relevant Charity Commission of the province. For example, if the charity will be registered in Punjab, section 12 of The Punjab Charity Commission Act of 2018 requires that the charity get itself registered with the Commission no later than such date as the government may, by notification, determine.
